Irish Dave will be no stranger to those of you who follow social media! He started as an on-shore fishing guide but thought he could try his luck as a manatee guide. Fast forward two years later and he is one of the most well-known and celebrated guides in the game and is now a certified Captain! We believed Dave was special from the first day he walked into River Ventures and he proves that to be true on a daily basis!

Devoted to the customer experience and an active manatee rescue volunteer, Irish Dave shines as a photographer and one of the unique personalities that add to the soul of our wacky family! Speaking of family… Dave is the proud papa to 6 children ranging in age from 4 to 18, so when he is not here with us, you know what he’s doing in his spare time! Actually, that means he doesn’t have any spare time…fishing, photography, manatees, or the kids…and I mean he is Irish, so a nice cold brew may come into play occasionally!

Dave’s dream trip would be to catch some marlins and rays in Mexico and eat his share of homemade enchiladas and chocolate fudge brownie ice cream before drifting to sleep waterfront under the Mexican moon. Born in Dublin, Dave is well known locally for his Irish brogue; he’s only been stateside for 9 years, so you can still hear the Dublin in his voice!

This Scorpio loves the color red and is known for his quick wit and humor. He has a passion for learning, and really enjoys spreading that love to everyone he meets by imparting his knowledge of nature. He’s found his niche here with RV and also River Safaris where he often runs airboats and scallop charters in the summer.
